Supportive Housing
The Arc of Southington currently operates one supportive housing program in Cheshire, providing services to 16 individuals across 15 apartments. Our apartment-based cluster setting promotes independence, stability, and meaningful community connections. We offer personalized support and leverage assistive technology to help each individual live successfully and thrive in their own home.
Residential Support
The Arc of Southington has been a residential service provider for over thirty years. Currently, under contract with the CT Department of Developmental Services, the agency operates seven licensed group homes—three in Southington, two in Cheshire, and two in Wallingford. The Arc of Southington provides Individualized Home Support (IHS) services. For more than two decades, we have been supporting individuals in their own homes in Southington and Plantsville. Individuals in IHS programs sign their own leases and direct the support they need.
Individualized Non-Vocational Day Support
The Arc of Southington provides daytime support on an individualized basis tailored to our individuals’ specific needs and personal goals. Currently, we support retirees, people who work or volunteer in the community, and individuals who choose other daytime activities. Many activities revolve around socialization with friends and engaging with people in the local community. We also provide non-vocational day supports tailored to our individuals who cannot participate in a traditional day program. Our day programs are geared toward full inclusion in the community.
Individualized Home Support (IHS)
The Arc of Southington is a CT Department of Developmental Services vendor. It encompasses personal support and day support options and provides the means to help our individuals develop their maximum level of independence in their daily living activities. All supports are individually designed in accordance with personal preferences, needs, and goals. For example, individuals will learn the skills to live independently or to access and become fully included in their communities. Individualized Home Support involves more comprehensive services than typical Day Support. For more information on any of our support programs, contact Patricia Gibney.
